Dec 2025_Jan 2026 Artist of the Month – Weatherford Art Association

First Place – Ann Feriend

First Place was awarded to Ann Feriend for her watercolor painting, What About
Those Apples. The piece stands out for its careful use of color and attention to
detail, capturing viewers’ attention with its vibrant composition. Feriend’s winning
artwork, along with several additional pieces, will be exhibited at the Doss Heritage
and Culture Center throughout December and January.

Second Place – Wendy Ray

Second Place honors went to Wendy Ray, a new member of the Weatherford Art
Association, for her oil painting titled Sonny. Ray’s work demonstrates strong
technique and expressive depth, making it a notable entry in the competition. Her
painting will be displayed at First Bank Texas in Weatherford during the months of
December and January.

Third Place – Mark Cook

Third Place was awarded to Mark Cook for his pencil and graphite drawing, Princess.
The detailed drawing showcases Cook’s skill and precision, emphasizing shading and
texture. His artwork will be on display December through January at the Fort Worth Community
Credit Union on South Main Street in Weatherford.
