October 2026 Artist of the Month

Weatherford Art Association Celebrates October Artists of the Month
The Weatherford Art Association (WAA) proudly announced the winners of its October Artist of
the Month competition, highlighting the creativity and talent of its local artist members.
The monthly competition allows WAA artists to showcase their work while competing for first-,
second-, and third-place honors. Selected pieces are displayed throughout the community at local
Parker County businesses and municipalities, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to
experience a wide variety of artistic styles and mediums. First-place winners also advance as
candidates for the prestigious Artist of the Year award, which is determined by a membership
vote each June.
First Place was awarded to Cindi Neverdousky for her oil painting “The Music Room.” This
painting is a dramatic still life centered around a violin. It features a strong contrast between the
dark background and illuminated objects giving it a moody, intimate, Old Master-inspired
quality. The violin, music, candle, and moon create a feeling of music, nostalgia, and quiet
nighttime reflection. Cindi’s winning artwork will be exhibited at Hudson Oaks City Hall
throughout October.
Second Place honors went to Mike McCarty for his watercolor painting “Franipani.” This
painting is a beautiful floral composition featuring several large flowers, including lilies and
other blossoms. You can see Mike’s painting at First Bank Texas on Palo Pinto in Weatherford
Third Place was awarded to Patricia Harder for her watercolor painting “Sitting in The
Garden.” This painting is a charming garden landscape. This piece feels peaceful and inviting,
capturing the feeling of sitting quietly in a well-loved garden rather than simply documenting a
landscape. Patricia’s artwork will be on display at Worth Credit Union on south Main in
Weatherford.
The Weatherford Art Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting
the arts and supporting arts education within the community. In addition to exhibitions, WAA
hosts monthly artist demonstrations designed to encourage learning, creativity, and artistic
growth among its members.
Monthly meetings are held at the Weatherford Senior Center, located at 1225 Holland Lake
Drive, from 6:00 to 7:45 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, except December.
